Meet the Loud Mouth

What happens when a journalist accidentally discovers viable evidence that Life is eternal rather than finite—and that each of us has a spiritual history (often labeled “past lives”)? She’s compelled to write about it, of course. And if some of the details of her own spiritual history is instructive, but not at all flattering, she tells it anyway.

For veteran TV journalist Pat Arnold, her past life history helped her understand why certain situations were occurring (and recurring) during this lifetime. She wove it together in her alternately amusing and genuinely profound metaphysical memoir, EARTH Is the MOTHER of All Drama Queens: Unmasking the Truth Behind Our Life Stories.

Pat’s decades-long exploration has transformed her into a self-described “spiritual sleuth” who comes to the rescue of those who cry: “Why did this awful, unfair thing happen?” and “Why didn’t God answer my prayers?”

Pat discovered that plausible answers are always accessible to any actor on Earth’s stage. Those answers are easy to spot—but only to those who are willing to embrace a God who is not the Bogeyman portrayed in religious scriptures: He’s angry, violently vindictive and solves problems by drowning and torturing animals and humans, even if they’ve done nothing wrong.

From what she calls “The Balcony of Life,” we can more clearly feel God’s divine and benevolent presence. And she’s quick to challenge centuries-long efforts to demonize God, which earned her another name: The Loud Mouth in the Balcony.

Welcome to this balcony, the online home of Pat’s alter ego! The doors are always open here. Come as often as you like, and know you are unconditionally loved in this space.

  1. And the LOUDMOUTH gets LOUDER I didn’t know you were controversial. Always sounded like you made sense. Continue loving.

  2. Bravo! Wonderful stuff.
However – I do believe that folks are a little less fearful and a little more hopeful. You think that means that people are thinking?

  3. You are coming thru loud and clear but sometimies the Spirit whispers. God sends so many messengers to us but they are not wearing sandwich-boards. We have to be prepared to use our antennas to pick up the message at times when it’s not so obvious.

  4. As usual your commentary came at a moment in time I very much needed. In fact this is a time we all need to be reminded of God’s love. It is all encompassing, non-exclusive and unconditional.

I often wonder what god is being worshiped when someone bombs or goes to war for God. If He is all powerful, why does He need or help? These actions don’t seem to fit the do unto others universal rules.

    Thank you.

  5. I agree, Danie. Your thoughtful comment reminds me of a Haki Madhubuti quote I read in Ebony magazine a few years ago: “It’s easier to believe than to think.” Too many of us take the easy way out. If we thought about what we believed, we’d not only think and act differently; we’d attract reciprocal behaviors that are pleasant rather than painful.

  6. Pat,
Rev. Ollie here from the North side. Love your info, writings, blessings and laughter I get when reading your articles. Love you bunches and I will be registering for the Sept. 19th event so we can finally meet.

  7. Fabulous, Rev. Ollie!
I absolutely positively am looking forward to meeting you.
    🙂

  8. Wow! Your insights are timely and I often find myself sitting in the balconies of life with you– sometimes nodding, at other times calling out an “Amen”, but always reflecting. Thanks for the focus on this great and complex earthly/spiritual journey.

  9. Thanks, Cee.
Hanging out in the balcony is my joy and my life mission. I am SO glad that you’re enjoying it as much as I am!

This has given us another way to connect. Miss you.

  10. Pat,
You are amazing – I love the way you think & express your feelings about
    our world.
“Love”, gives us, “Happy Hearts” – As my mother would say,
    “JUST THiNK ABOUT”.
